Following the edict implicit in its name, Transfigured has become something else; has changed; has taken a further step; is embracing the future.

Transfigured was and Oceanallover is.

This is an archive of the original Transfigured web-site and shows the origins of species.

A desire to promote intuition and insight in a culture which is losing sight of the ground supporting them. By making Art that is daring and exploratory; that looks for another route through the uncharted realms of the future; that boldly goes; that is not scared to be scared; that searches for vision without sight; that refuses definition; that is Art for People's sake; that is a reminder of mortality, of the need to live; that is an act of generosity; by making Art that is daring, that generates energy, that can inspire people to feel more, to live more strongly, to defy gravity for longer.

Transfigured was formed in 1997 to present Fine-Art and Performance of a high standard and in a challenging way. The company's first production, A Language of Others, was shown at Tramway in 1998 and attracted much attention through the bold combination of commissioned music, sculptural environments and experimental dance.

Transfigured have continued to maintain a strong sense of purpose and integrity in their work, actively seeking venues and performance locations which bring very contemporary Art to a public which does not normally have access to dance-performance.

Transfigured played a major role in the creation of the Mid-Summer Fire Festival as part of Britain's day at the 1998 Expo in Lisbon. The company has shown work in Germany, Montenegro and Georgia. Stealing Lead was shown during the summer of 2001 at the Museum of Scotland in Edinburgh and also on the streets of Presov and Kosice in Slovakia.
